Welcome to the World of Vulva and Vagina!

As doctors, our goal is to dispel the many misconceptions about your body and give you the information you deserve about your body. Let’s get intimate!

The vulva comes in all shapes and sizes

“It’s important to say that all vulvas look different from each other. During my 50 years as an OB/GYN, I’ve met thousands of women and no one looks the same. The female body is fantastic in so many ways, and the Vulva is no exception."
- Dr. Gunvor Ekman-Oderberg, M.D., PH.D

Your vulva is not your vagina.

Vulva

Can be washed

The Vulvar skin is our most delicate skin of the entire body, and is not self-cleansing. The area could therefore be washed with an intimate wash, since both urine and bacterias can cling to this area. The vulva also has sweat glands which can cause odor.

Vagina

Should never be washed!

The vagina is self-cleansing through the discharge and should never be washed. Here you have the acidic pH level of 3.5 to avoid growth of “bad” bacterias.
